The Hardby Campaign Mailing List:
The Hardby Mailing List is intended for the players and DM of the Hardby Campaign to keep in touch with one another as well as giving the players an easy way to design elaborate plans to overthrow the DM and defeat his plans to crush our characters. Spam free. It really is nothing more than an easier way to send a message. Why CC 4 or 5 people, and forget one? You may join the list by following the link or read our archives. I do believe that permission needs to be granted to join, so please sign up and the Theocrat will approve your request (so we keep this SPAM free).

A Map of the Wild Coast.

House Rules:
Any D&D Game is going to have its own house rules. It's just the nature of the beast. As such, please follow the link to the House Rules site. Thanks.
About the Las Vegas Campaign:
The Hardby Campaign came about when Theocrat Issak felt that it was time to retire his Theocracy of the Pale campaign, after another successful year of campaigning. With the Stroun Campaign coming to an end, and unsure of where to explore next, it was decided that someone else should DM. Dewayne got us started with 2 games, in the Hardby region. When Dewayne wasn't able to complete his tour of DM duty, Ron stepped up. Running his first game in years and on the fly and seat of his pants, our characters never fought so many random encounters. Keeping the same basic story and concept idea's, Ron has now DMed a few games and our campaign is coming along.

Story Arc:

The basic premise behind our current campaign is the Hardby article in Dungeon 109. Using that and the many other Greyhawk books and general knowledge of the area, the characters are exploring the Wild Coast area. The party was brought togeather by the Merchant Guild of Hardby, asking for volunteers to search for Gasson, a half-olven merchant. While on the path to finding Gasson, the party came across a goblin druid slaver. Defeating the evil slaver's guards, Aksis found himself negoiating a treaty with the goblin. The slaver informed us that most likely Gasson had met a fate similar to his own slaves. It was agreed that the Hardby Adventurers would "protect" the slaver and his wagon, provided he would take them to a small slavers town. Posing as his guards proved to be very difficult for Gohor, who wished nothing more than to free the slaves. However, after assuring him that they would just be captured by another slaver, he supported the idea. Just hours outside of the slavers village, and coming upon other slavers, it was agreed that Zeneal would be placed in the slave wagon with the other slaves. While approaching the small town, the party met an Ogre dragging 3 slaves. A man and woman barely survived the brutal dragging, while one of the men did not. Demanding a trade, 2 of his humans for our 1 olve, the party could not accept, the Ogre attacked. Calling for Zeneal, Aksis fired his magic missle, as did Zeneal. Suprised and off guard, the Ogre was enraged. Gohor, seeing potential followers jumped in the fray. Shandar in a frenzy attacked with wild abandon. And abandon he did as he fell to a massive critical (Dewayne was still DMing, and Ron had to leave early to pick up his wife...good thing Henry and Issak don't play Barbarians!).
Soon the Ogre fell and two more slaves were added to the wagon and a grave site was dug for the lost human. Gohor realized that with only hours to go, something would need to be done with him and his huge tabard to Heironeous. Unwilling to cover it up, it was decieded that he, Shandar and the Dwur would stay behind. Knowing that going into town with slaves and not selling them would not go to well for the goblin, it was decided that we would offer freedom to our slaves. As such, we told them our plans. We offered them immediate freedom, but to realize that they were only hours from a slave town. Leaving the party now would only mean certain captivity again. Martin and Johnathan, both Narwell Guards agreed. Cormeyan, and Sherri both slaves from the Ogre agreed as well. It was decieded that Johnathan and Martin would don the weapons and armor stashed from some of the many enemies slain and join Aksis and the goblin as they went into town. Zeneal would go as well, however, as a slave.
It was here that Ron took over the game, and he had to come up with a minor plan of his own, keeping the same premise and characters. Congradulations go to him for doing as much.
In the slavers town, Aksis was able to fend off a few potential purchasers of his Olven companion. Purchasing slaves of his own, Aksis was able to find that Gasson was sold to another slaver. Returning to the group, the companions remained togeather, following the trail of Gasson and his captors. Again, Gohor had trouble with keeping "our slaves" in the dark about what was going to happen to them. He felt that they should be free at night and told of our plan. It was decided that they would remain "slaves" and Aksis was determined to keep it that way. Along the way, the Slaving Companions were ambushed by some norkers. After defeating them, their lunch was found. Donitis, a monk from the region appeared to be their next meal. Aksis felt that they had captured another slave, but Gohor realized his potential to help the party. As such he joined the group.
