Barony of Narwell
fig. 1

Blazon: Barry of eight blue and silver.

Commentary: The Barony of Narwell probably did have a founding Baron or Baroness in its early history. If this worthy’s line truly did exist it has long since been replaced by a series of pretenders and scoundrels that have laid claim to the arms and lands of Narwell.

The simplicity of the arms design, fig. 1, speaks to the great age of the arms. Whether they were assumed by the original bearer and later recognized or granted by the Overking has been lost with my precious libraries during the fall of Rauxes.

Before the Greyhawk Militia and Narwell Headhunters garrisoned the town, the Narwell Militia wore the arms in fig. 1 along with a badge of an Ibex (sans the baronial crown), the animal displayed on the crest of the arms in fig. 2.

The current Baronial pretender’s bully squad was wisely disbanded by the powers of Greyhawk, as they were little better then brigands with badges. In fact several of its former members were later captured by the Headhunters for brigandage and hung after a fair but brief trial for their crimes. No connection to their former liege was ever proven. Pity.

In Service,

Saracenus Garasteth, Baron of Trellwood
Radiant Sun King at Arms
