I remember my first year of high school the original World of Greyhawk folio came out and I was one of the first in my group to buy it at our local game store, Military Corner. While I devoured the descriptions of the many lands that comprised this new world and poured over the beautiful Darlene maps, it was the shields that really caught my eye.
I had never seen heraldry before and I fell in love with the shields on front and back cover.
Decades later I have the tools, talent, and time to recreate my favorite part of the World of Greyhawk. So, join me every Thursday when I post a new shield and some commentary by notable heraldic scholar Saracenus Garasteth, Radiant Sun King at Arms. I hope you like it as much as I do.
I have a thread on the Canonfire.org forums where I will answer questions
about the various shields I present here.
