Principality of Ulek
fig. 1

Blazon: Silver, a twin bladed battleaxe red.

Commentary: The Principality of Ulek is said to have once been a part of the fabled Dwarven Kingdoms of the Lortmills. On this subject I have no insight. The principality's arms are distinctly in the human in style and I have not seen any records of it done in the traditional dwarven style, see fig. 1.

The blood-red twin bladed axe is testament to the ruthless efficiency of the various princes that have ruled in Ulek. The sight of a white banner the Ulek axe on a battlefield is also cause for alarm for those unlucky to be on the wrong side of it. Many an orc has met his end having seen it.

The full arms of the Principality of Uelk, see fig. 2, is notable for its crest, a red stone crown with a blue salamander enflamed. Salamanders are associated with the plane of fire but why is blue is a mystery. Golden badgers supporting the arms are typical of the dwarves and are a sign of divine favor.

In Service,

Saracenus Garasteth, Baron of Trellwood
