Blazon (fig. 2): Silver, on a bend blue three radient suns gold, a fret sinister chief black.
Blazon (fig. 3): Blue, a base arched blue, a sun in its splendor gold (see below).

Commentary: The Kingdom of Sunndi has a nearly 150 year tradition of rebellion against The Great Kingdom. Before it became a Kingdom, and I use the term in its loosest form, it was a minor County in the South Provence.

Before 455 CY the arms of the County are seen in fig. 1. When Sunndi broke away they added the black fret of the hated Iron League to the County’s arms (fig. 2).

It is interesting they did not jettison the whole arms, but retained the three radiant suns of the original. Perhaps they saw this as a grave insult to usurp the rightful lands of South Provence and arms as well. When I studied in Raxus the County of Sunndi’s arms were struck from the role of arms at the collegium, rightfully so.

When the self styled "Olvenking" made Sunndi a Kingdom two years ago, the hated fret was discarded but his heralds still used a sun motif (granted, a sun in its splendor has closer ties to Pelor than the Great Kingdom) and the same tinctures (blue and silver) of the old County for the new royal arms (see fig. 3, below).

Also of note, the kingdom while ruled by an elf, it uses human forms and styles for its arms.

I have recently come across the arms used in official seals of the Kingdom of Sunndi and it adds a mantled helm gold and blue crested by a cooshee (an elven hound) proper (green in color) wearing an oak crown (see fig. 4, below).

In Service,

Saracenus Garasteth, Baron of Trellwood
Radiant Sun King at Arms
