Commentary: The integration of native dwarven heraldry with its human cousin has met with varying degrees of success. I personally prefer keeping heraldry within its original context and try not to push a square peg into a round hole. Dumadan's heraldry is an illustrative example of the human heralds attempting to squeeze one shape into another.

• Fig. 1 is done in the classic dwarven style with a stone colored border with runic writing and is found in this dwarven enclave's official documentation.
• Fig. 2 is an attempt by Ursus King at Arms of the Palatine Duchy of Urnst to literally translate the Dumadan's Arms into a human form, going as far as translating the dwarven runes into the Common tongue. The reader will notice that the shape of the kite shield is awkward at best when displaying the text of the dwarven prayer, lacking the grace of the original.
• Fig. 3 (see below) is a completely human version of Dumadan's arms dispensing with the border and text. This example was found in a proposed tax document from the Library of Greyhawk. While serviceable it lacks the power of the original.

It is worth noting the unusual use of a harp as the primary charge, however it suits the Mountain Dwarves of Dumadan who are known for a Bardic College within their mountain citadel. As for the prayer to Mordain, the Forge Father, it again references their bardic tradition but also makes reference to their little known of hand-to-hand combat training that their warriors receive.
