Affiliations
Affiliations are a type of faction in the third edition ruleset[1] which player characters can join and earn an "affiliation score" which measures their fame or notability within an organization.[2]
Affiliations generally fall into one of ten categories: business, cabal, college, druid circle, fighting company, government, spy ring, temple, thieves guild, or tribe.[2]
A character can have affiliation score in several affiliations, but can only use the benefits of one affiliation on any given day.

Organizations as Factions in fifth edition
[edit | edit source]While the idea of Affiliations was introduced in third edition, in fifth edition this translates to Factions.
In Princes of the Apocalypse (2015), equivalents are given to replace the factions presented in it (and other fifth edition sources) with fations specifically from the World of Greyhawk™ setting.
- Circle of Eight—replacing the Harpers[11]
- Church of Saint Cuthbert—replacing the Order of the Gauntlet[11]
- Old Faith—replacing the Emerald Enclave, along with associated groups like the Gnarley Rangers[11]
- Knights of the Hart—replacing the Lord's Alliance[12]
- Thieves' Guild of Greyhawk—replacing the Zhentarim[12]
