Plot
[edit | edit source]Against the Giants is a novelization of the D&D classic series of the same name (the G-series, 1978)—G1 Steading of the Hill Giant Chief, G2 Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl, G3 Hall of the Fire Giant King.
Set in the World of Greyhawk™, it is the story of a village boy, Lhors, coming of age as he fights against giants who destroyed his home and family.
"Unlike the original adventure trilogy, Against the Giants does not end on a cliffhanger. The story is very much resolved, even though the threat of the drow is still in the open."[1]
Reception and influence

In a review of the novel on RPG.net, Alex deMorris writes, "Ru's writing brought the true flavor of the series and even in a idea of what was actualy going on... (in the series, the adventures never gave a clue of what was going on)."[2]
