David Christ (pronounced /krĭst/) is an American author, creator, and the President of Baldman Games (BMG), a Premier Organizer for WotC's Legends of Greyhawk organized play campaign.
Biography
[edit | edit source]"Rumored to be part Frost Giant and having a wicked pants allergy—"The Baldman" is surrounded by legions that make him look great. David joined the RPGA in 2000 to get the free magazine and was quickly roped into helping out with the Living Greyhawk (LG) campaign. From there he started running local shows for LG before being waylaid in an alley and conscripted to run the campaign for Wizards of the Coast in 2002. After a few years of warm fuzzies and kittens with LG he accepted a challenge in 2004 to better organize and run the RPGA presence at all the large shows WotC attended. From there was born Baldman Games and our ever-expanding empire of putting 'butts in seats to have an amazing time gaming.'"

Personal life
[edit | edit source]While Christ is well-known for in the gaming industry for his work in organized play campaigns, by day he works in data analysis and intelligence.[1] He attended Wright State University, and finished his degree in Computer Science at Kent State University in Ohio. He's spent most of his life as a resident of Ohio but has travelled the US, especially with conventions for BMG and WotC.[1]
In between conventions hosting BMG content and doing shows for WotC, Christ likes to spend time watching sports and enjoys travelling. He says he wishes he had more time to read but sleeping between convention cuts into his reading time.[1]
Christ is married and has two children.[1]
Career
[edit | edit source]Christ has been doing organizational projects for Wizards of the Coast since the 90s. And his company, Baldman Games, began administering the D&D organized play Adventurer's League just after the outset of fifth edition.[1]
D&D Adventurers League
[edit | edit source]In 2014, Wizards of the Coast rebranded their D&D organized play program – this included changing the name to the D&D Adventurers League. The inception of this rebrand coincided with the launch of fifth edition.[2][3][4]
The D&D Adventurers League reorganized in 2016[5][6] and has since tried new campaign formats and settings.[7][8][9][10] but as of the end of 2025, BMG is one of only three Premier Organizers for the Adventurers League.
In October 2020, Wizards of the Coast announced the ticketed Virtual D&D Weekends (VDDW) series organized by Baldman Games. This monthly event uses a convention style format and includes the option of either Adventurers League legal games or non-AL games.[11][12][13]
Legends of Greyhawk
[edit | edit source]Baldman Games is the largest Premier Organizer for WotC's Legends of Greyhawk organized play campaign. In December 2024, Baldman Games was the first Premier Organizer announced by Wizards of the Coast[14] The campaign debuted at MagicCon: Chicago in February 2025. The campaign follows the DMG (2024), taking place in 576 CY, and is based on "past and current organized play campaigns", but differs in rules and storyline. At Gen Con, in July 2025, they announced an expansion of Legends of Greyhawk as their "newest D&D organized play campaign" with various other premier organizers in tandem with BMG, who are assigned locations within the Greyhawk setting to create adventures for.[15]
