| Members: | Nyrond, Almor, Iron League |
In 579 CY, in response to increased militarism by the Great Kingdom, several nations including Nyrond, Almor, and the Iron League (Idee, Irongate, Onnwal, Lordship of the Isles and Sunndi) band together to form the Golden League. This military union declares war against the Great Kingdom in late Needfest. The Great Kingdom replies in kind, and the short War of the Golden League commences.
A series of naval battles in Relmor Bay soon follow, but by the end of 580 CY a stalemate ensues. The Golden League holds firm, and remains sovereign, although the Great Kingdom prevents the alliance from expanding or aiding its armies via naval support.
The war gains neither side very much, but drains manpower and money leading up to the Greyhawk Wars breaking out in 582 CY.
