Suderham is a remote, hidden city in the Drachensgrab Hills in Mt. Flamenblut.[1][2] It was ruled by the Slave Lords[3] in the late 570s CY.[4]
It is the titular "aerie" in Assault on the Aerie of the Slave Lords' (1981).[5]
History
[edit | edit source]In the mid-fifth century CY, Suderham was the seat of the capitol of the Kingdom of Drachensgrab.[2]
Suderham is one of the only places which survived the onslaught of humanoid tribes during the Hateful Wars.[2], though the city is kept secret for over sixty more years.
In 575 CY, Stalman Klim, priest of the Earth Dragon and one of the Slave Lords, stages a coup and takeover Suderham, murdering King Rodric, who had been ruling the cityThe public is told Rodric blasphemed against the Earth Dragon, and it was by divine command of the Earth Dragon that the king had been slain.[4]
Suderham is notably destroyed in 580 CY by an eruption of Mt. Flamenblut caused by the Earth Dragon out of displeasure with the failures of the Slave Lords and Stalman Klim specifically[5] (the events of In the Dungeons of the Slave Lords [1981]).[6]
Geography
[edit | edit source]Suderham is situated on an island in a lake in the caldera of a volcano, Mt. Flamenblut.[1][2]
