The Dog House

...Or More Than You Ever Wanted To Know About The Grodog

You can read my short bio, which has finally been updated a bit. The old one, contrary to intent, has not been deleted, but supplanted. You can still read it if you like, though I don't really advise it.

Shhhhh. I'm huntin' pirates.

I've been reading a lot lately. I finished Bruce A. Bolt's Earthquakes a few weeks ago--it was interesting as well as informative (I'm toying with the idea of writing up a short section on earthquakes and plate techtonics for Blue Planet as a result of reading this). I bought and read J. Michael Straczynski's (I really wish I could be sure I spelled his name correctly without having to quit this document, save it, call up another, and then come back here . . . . ) Complete Book of Scriptwriting rather recently, both for it's JMS/B5-ness, as well as to follow up on an old idea my old PSU roomie Jeff Turick had (that he saw me being a comic book/script writer at some point in my future). Kathleen Norris has a new book out, I saw it in Hastings the other day, and I'm probably going to succumb and nab it, as I loved Dakota; what I'd really like, though, is to dig up some of her poetry, so if you know anywhere to look/get it, please email me and earn my eternal gratitude (or some semblance thereof). (She is a featured writer on Putnam's Page, though).

In addition, I've been reading a lot of game material (mostly for review, though I did splurge on 4 new WW books the other day: Vampire's Constantinople... and Toronto by Night, The Book of Worlds, and The Cult of Ecstacy for Mage. (I sill miss Virtual Lore and wish someone with a half a brain and a large trustfund would contact Bill and Carla to refund the mag). Speaking of writing, I just finished my review for Holistic Design's Fading Suns, to appear in Pyramid (new review material arrivals include the next two FS releases, and the new editions of Masks of Nyarlathotep and Star Wars).

I'm working on some new poems that just don't seem to be coming together as well as I'd like, but take a look at the poems page for further info on that score. I should be working more on EHP's Secret Project, for which I have a January 17 deadline, but I've got more reading to do before that's workable.

I went bowling yesterday for the firs time in a few years, and ahad a nice time. Staying up all night and then going straight to work, however, was somewhat less than intelligent . . . . However, I had fun, and there's something to be said for that :-) I don't, however, advise you rent Body of Evidence 2, which was as awful as it sounded like it would be. Empire Records was enjoyable, as was Four Rooms, even though I can't for the life of me think of waht other Tim Roth movie I've seen recently. Oh well.
