- Greyhawk becomes a free city. It severs its ties with the Great Kingdom, in part due to the negative assocation of the line of cruel Overkings Ivid. (TAB p.59-60,64; LGG p.52)
- County of Urnst becomes palatinate under the Duchy of Urnst. (Guide p.9)
- Hateful Wars begin. Orcs and other humanoids are driven out of the Lortmils by neighboring realms. (Folio p.14; Dragon #167 p.10,11; Slavers p.120)
- Landstadt of Selintan is abolished. Hardby's full autonomy is restored. (Dungeon #109 p.95)

Notes
Greyhawk's declaration of independence comes one year after the ascension of Ivid III to the Malachite Throne. According to Wars, Ivid I ascended to the throne in 446 CY and ruled for 48 years (494 CY). Ivid II ruled for 3 years (497 CY) before being murdered by his son, Ivid III, who murdered his own relatives to prevent rival claims to the throne.
