Sheriff Cubbin is renowned for corruption, and for being the head of what passes for law enforcement in Diamond Lake.
Personality
[edit | edit source]Most visitors to Diamond Lake find that Cubbin is subtly hostile and eminently bribable, as well. [1]
Possessions
[edit | edit source]Cubbin owns both magical armor and weaponry.[2]
Relationships
[edit | edit source]The only known relationship Cubbin has is his professional relationship with Govorner-Mayor Lanod Neff. He does his best to always ensure Neff gets what he wants, and his plans go off without a hitch.[1]
The constabulary do not have much of a reaction to crimes committed against the agents or employees of the mine managers in Diamond Lake, but when it comes to the mine managers themselves, there's a great deal of protocol and conventionality that comes in. Crimes committed directly against the mine managers will see the offender arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Cubbin (and his constables/cronies) pay extra attention to the dealings of Balabar Smenk and Gelch Tilgast.[1]
History
[edit | edit source]Many people assumed that his appointment was a joke given his shady background. That changed once he started arresting people.[1]
Rumors and legends
[edit | edit source]It is common knowledge in local scuttlebutt, the Sheriff is very corrupt, taking money from various people to look the other way, and his enforcement of the law is dictated by how much money he is offered. However, there is no direct information he is brazen or open about it.
