The Dapple Wood lies under control of Furyondy and grows on both sides of the Velverdyva River.

"The small woodland is a major resource for Furyondy, which makes extensive use of its timber. Good-quality ipp, yarpick, and bronzewood are brought out steadily."

Fauna

"Game is still plentiful.... Black bears, wild dogs, poisonous snakes, and giant porcupines are the only real threats."

Geography

The Dapple Wood lies across both sides of the Velverdyva River about midway between Dyvers and Veluna City, roughly 100 miles north-northeats of Verbobonc.

History

"Bugbears once roamed [the Dapplewood], but have not been seen [since 581 CY] after rangers, knights, and militiamen hunted them without mercy."

"Ships on the Velverdyva often put in at small, free spirited shore villages in the woods at night, if they don't stop at the port of Kisail upriver."

Inhabitants

The forest is home to some 800 woodsmen, loggers, hunters, and trappers. There are also some 300 militia troops stationed there.^{[citation needed]}
