Kinemeet is a settlement in the Kingdom of Johrase in the Bandit Kingdoms in the Northern Flanaess.

History

[edit | edit source]

Kindmeet was founded as a place where chieftains of the Middle Lands, or bandit chieftains, would gather together. It was one of the few places where neutrality was expected, and there was no warring amongst them. Prized livestock of all sorts were brought, and trophies were awarded for various competitions.[1]

In the long aftermath following the Greyhawk Wars, Johrase (including Kinemeet) is decimated by the army of the Empire of Iuz when Iuz invades in 583 CY[2] Even though Johrase stands with Dimre (who has the most regimented standing army in the Bandiy Kingdoms), Johrase is defeated and their army and populace are mostly strewn throughout all the surrounding lands.[2]

Geography

[edit | edit source]

Overlooking the Tangles, Kinemeet is at the northeastern extent of the forest. It lies about 60 miles due south of Rookroost and roughly 100 miles east of Redspan, near the juncture of the Artonsamay and Zumker Rivers.[3]

Population

By 591 CY, there are approximately 7,300 individuals in Kinemeet, with roughly only 2,300 of them being human.[2]

Government

[edit | edit source]

At one time, centuries ago, near to its founding in 324 CY, following the example of the Great Kingdom, Johrase had a king who ruled the region, but eventually the king was chosen by trial of combat and the strongest warrior became the ruler. There have been rulers of various races, even orog.[1]

Economy

[edit | edit source]

Trade

[edit | edit source]

In the years prior to the Greyhawk Wars, prize cattle are brought to Kinemeet and a marketplace for livestock is held when the chieftains meet.

Creative origins

[edit | edit source]

The name combines kine (an archaic plural word for "cows" meaning cattle) and meet (noun; a gathering in the sense of a moot ), reflecting Kinemeet's origin.
