Description
[edit source]Scarsdale is a small village located roughly fifteen miles northwest of Castle Seh, tucked into the eastern reaches of the Eastern Abbor-Alz March. The settlement is modest, consisting of nine houses, a single inn, a blacksmith’s shop, and a stable.
Reaching Scarsdale requires a long, arduous climb along a narrow mountain trail, leaving the village both isolated and difficult to access. In times of serious danger, the village sheriff relies on Castle Seh for protection and military aid as there have been attacks from the devishes from the Bright Desert.
Local trade and nightly gossip are filled with dark tales of orcs roaming the nearby mountains and livestock gone missing, losses the villagers insist could only be the work of ogres or even giants. Scarsdale maintains a simple alarm bell to warn of approaching threats, and the sheriff serves as the sole authority responsible for the village’s defense and order.[1]

Notable locations
[edit source]Rorn's Crag - located southwest of Scarsdale, the road leading to it quickly deteriorates into little more than a game trail as it climbs into increasingly rugged terrain along the slopes of the Abbor-Alz. Nestled within a narrow, shadow-choked canyon lies a long-abandoned mining camp, uninhabitable for decades.
A massive rockfall has sealed the mine entrance, leaving it barely visible beneath layers of stone and debris. Despite its ruin, the site is typically far from deserted, clear signs of orc activity are everywhere, indicating that the creatures have claimed the old camp as a base of operations.[2]
