Regarding direct quotes

[edit source]

This is a relatively minor thing, and is more about good form and practicing with the Chicago Manual of Style.

So, I reverted a couple of quotes.

The thing of it is that these are direct quotes from a person. We can change them to read better or easier ... but we can't near-quote someone and add words or whatever, even little things. A quote is a quote.

If we want to rephrase what they said to make it more engaging or accessible, we should either only quote part of what they said and summarize/reword the rest, or change them entirely and summarize/reword the whole thing.

This is really just a little minor quibble, and the page is looking great, and has a lot of detail to it now, and is a great full-spread article! —Abra Saghast (talk) 20:52, 2 October 2025 (EDT)
